Abstract

This paper describes the issues and recommendations of the Oceans section of Agenda 21of the 1992 UNCED Conference. Particular emphasis is placed on the need to link activities on various important environmental problems (including those threatening the oceans), to focus on land-based activities, to practice integrated coastal zone management, and to utilize the framework of the Law of the Sea Convention.
