Abstract
This paper “The Mexican Directorate of Maritime Safety” aims to Enhance the necessity of bigger involvement of surveyors and staff in general, with IMO conventions regulations and codes due to its very decisive influence in the international maritime environment. The paper shows a brief description of the Mexican Maritime Administration and the situation and roll played by the surveyors and the decisive importance of them for the improvement of safety within the Mexican fleet. The general conclusion of the paper, which is discussed in its entirety, states that by establishing a permanent program of training in the form of short seminars for surveyors and senior staff and for futures recruits it will ensure maritime safety and subsequent economic advantages for Mexico.
