Abstract
The dissertation is a study of the lessons to be learned from casualties to be included in the PMMA nautical curriculum. A review was undertaken at the present curriculum together with its historical developments. On the other hand, a thorough investigation and research was conducted in consonance to the requirements provided for by the STCW 95 as the basis of the future nautical curriculum. The succeeding chapters of the study surveys and evaluates the present deficiencies of the nautical curriculum system used by the PMMA. Identification of the problems and possible solutions were made in order to promote and develop a better curriculum system for nautical students of the institution. In conclusion, recommendations were made to effect the desired objectives necessary to achieve the aforesaid undertakings.
